Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Proverbs 27:17 (KJV)
Most of us can name a friend who changed the direction of our faith: someone who asked a good question at the right moment, prayed when we couldn’t, or simply showed up.
Scripture treats this kind of friendship as a means of growth, not a nice extra. The writer to the Hebrews puts it plainly:
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…
Hebrews 10:24–25 (KJV)
Why we gather
TPC exists online, but it is not only online. Articles and books can inform us; friends form us. That is why our activities are built around tables, walks and conversations rather than stages.
A simple practice
This week, think of one friend and ask them a single question: “How can I pray for you?” Then do it.
